It provides tools for tracking firearms, ammunition, accessories, range sessions, maintenance records, and related activities. The application may integrate with third-party asset management systems for extended functionality.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and legally permitted to own firearms under all applicable federal, state, and local laws in your jurisdiction to use this application. By using The Gun Log, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

4. User Responsibilities

  • You are solely responsible for the safe and legal handling, storage, transport, and use of all firearms, ammunition, and related equipment.
  • You must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding firearms ownership, possession, transfer, and use.
  • You are responsible for maintaining accurate records and ensuring all data entered into the application is truthful and current.
  • You are responsible for securing access to your installation of this application, including but not limited to network security, user credentials, and server configuration.
  • You must not use this application to facilitate any illegal activity.

5. No Legal Advice

This application is a personal record-keeping and organizational tool only. Nothing in this application constitutes legal advice regarding firearms laws, regulations, NFA registration, compliance, or any other legal matter. You should consult with a qualified attorney regarding any legal questions about firearms ownership, transfer, or use.

6. No Responsibility for Firearms Use

The developers, contributors, and operators of this application assume no responsibility whatsoever for how any firearm, ammunition, accessory, or related equipment tracked in this application is stored, handled, transported, used, transferred, sold, or disposed of.

This application is a record-keeping and organizational tool only. It does not influence, direct, endorse, or control any physical activity involving firearms. The existence of a record in this application does not constitute approval, recommendation, or endorsement of any action taken with the recorded item.

The developers and operators of this application shall not be held liable for, nor be considered party to, any incident, crime, injury, death, or property damage involving firearms or ammunition tracked within this application, regardless of the circumstances.

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not use this application to:

  • Track firearms, ammunition, or accessories that you do not legally own or possess.
  • Facilitate illegal firearms transactions, transfers, or straw purchases.
  • Circumvent any legal requirement related to firearms ownership or registration.
  • Store information about weapons that are illegal in your jurisdiction.
  • Plan, coordinate, or facilitate any criminal activity.
  • Violate any applicable firearms law or regulation.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The application is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the application will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or that data will be preserved without loss or corruption. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups.

9. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the developers, contributors, or operators of this application be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the application. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Property damage or personal injury of any kind.
  • Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities.
  • Any damages arising from the use or misuse of firearms, ammunition, or equipment tracked in this application.
  • Legal penalties or consequences resulting from actions taken based on information stored in this application.

10. Data and Privacy

This is a self-hosted application. You are responsible for where your data is stored, how it is secured, and who has access to it. The developers do not have access to your data unless you explicitly provide it.

If analytics features are enabled, anonymous usage data may be collected to improve the application. No personal data, firearms data, or inventory information is ever transmitted to third parties.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the developers, contributors, and operators of this application from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:

  • Your use or misuse of the application.
  • Your violation of these terms.
  • Your violation of any law or regulation, including firearms laws.
  • Any incident involving firearms or ammunition tracked in this application.
  • Unauthorized access to your data due to inadequate security of your installation.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the application. Your continued use of the application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law principles.
